Technician
Reporting to the Molding Shift
Supervisor, the Process Technician is responsible for managing and
directing resources to tackle technical issues that arise during the
shift that results in meeting safety, quality and delivery targets and
to foster a working environment that is fair, equitable and driven to
continuously improve.
Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety
- Ensures all team members are
trained and performing in a safe and efficient manner using
appropriate PPE when applicable. Provide the training when
appropriate
- Assist shift supervisor in
accident/incident investigations to determine root causes,
corrective actions and follow-up to ensure completion
- Proactively identify and suggest
ways to eliminate hazards
- Correct unsafe acts or conditions,
ensuring health & safety policies are followed
- Regularly audit the shop floor to
ensure compliance with policies and procedures and ensure that
inspections are appropriately documented

Coordinate the Shift
Molding Operations
- Identify and communicate mold/machine
problems to Tool Room and Maintenance. Act as a liaison between
the various departments to address issues for timely corrective
action
- When paged by Machine Operator for
help, attend to the request at the earliest.

shifts to understand:
- Technical issues that affect
attainment and needs continued attention.
- Quality issues that affect
attainment
- Assist Shift Supervisor in
responding to NCR’s and PQI’s including establishing and following
up on corrective action plans

Operate the Injection
Molding Machine, Stacking Equipment and Molds
Machine:
- Perform complex troubleshooting
and process adjustments
- Start-up any Injection Molding
machine without a saved set-up
- Create master set-up sheet with
all machine parameters when one does not exist
- Set-up servo and mechanical swing
chute. Maintain, troubleshoot and make adjustments if needed for
proper functioning
- Perform basic machine maintenance
to help troubleshoot for maintenance
Mold:
- Make a decision to block cavities
- Identify mold problems for repair
and communicate to tooling department for corrective action
Stacking Equipment:
- Verify stacker set-up.
Troubleshoot and make adjustments if needed for proper functioning
- Set-up, troubleshoot Polystacker
systems

Report and Document
- Maintain master set-up sheets of
all mold-machine combination in binders
- Provide detail documentation on
corrective actions taken to resolve mold/machine/stacker and
quality issues
- Complete and submit service
request to the issuing department during the shift. Follow-up with
service request to ensure that the necessary corrective action has
been taken and the problem has been resolved
- Print and file shop floor
documentation for future reference

Develop Skills of Shop
Floor Employees
- Identify training needs for
machine operators. Be certified in TWI and ensure TWI methods are
being used to train team members
- Ensure adherence to standard work
and provide timely feedback
- Provide training and coaching to
machine operators on operating the machines effectively to produce
quality parts
- Lead continuous improvement
projects and ensure machine operator participation

and co-ordination of all Tool Room functions and activities in order

To have ownership of all the molds to
ensure sufficient capability and capacity to meet production demands
and to proactively identify and drive Continuous Improvement projects
to improve product quality, overall manufacturing efficiency and
productivity while reducing costs and waste. To provide day-to-day
technical support to enable achievement of production targets and
Molding Dept.obiectives.
Responsibilities:

The Molding Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing and
directing the Molding Operations, including providing direct
leadership to the Shift Supervisors, to ensure key Department
performance targets are met. Molding Operations includes all
Continental Shift operations personnel and all Packing personnel.
