Operations Support
Specialist
This
position has responsibility for assisting
in
the operational control of the Company’s Eagle PACE'Portfolio
Management System. This includes
monitoring and maintaining: data inputs from external
sources,
data
exports to external systems,
and
generating reports to monitor the accuracy and completeness of the
data.
Requirements:
-
Data
receipt and loading: assisting the Investment Applications Analysts
in receiving data files, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of
the data, monitoring the data loading process,
investigating data errors and warning messages.

Data Quality: analyzing report outputs for accuracy;
identifying and resolving issues, including
following up with the external
data providers.
Detecting and implementing solutions to complex data integrity
issues with suppliers of data.

Data Maintenance: manual changes to Eagle PACE
data as directed.

Assisting Senior Investment Application Analysts as required in the
implementation and testing of new systems as well as upgrades and
changes to applications.

Responding to queries and questions from other users.

Performing
other duties as assigned
Requirements
-
Knowledge of database
systems
operations,
spreadsheet
applications,
language
and
products
designed
to resolve
complex
data problems.
Sound
understanding
of relational
database concepts.
-
Experience
with
SQL
Server
or Oracle-based
databases.
-
Experience
using
SQL,
FTP
and
scripting
languages
(MS
Windows
batch commands).
-
Familiarity
with
investment
reference
and market data.
-
Programming experience
desirable
(Perl, PLlSQL,
Visual
Basic).
-
Strong analytical
and problem-solving
skills,
attention
to detail and
good
written
communication.
-
Completion of the Canadian
Securities Course (CSC) desirable.
-
Organization skills in order to balance workload
and
set
priorities.
-
Ability to
communicate
effectively
with external
data providers,
including the
custodian
bank as well
as
internal investment
staff
and technical
personnel
at the Company.
