Molding Process
Engineer
Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibility.
Fiscal Responsibilities: Project budgets.
Monitor and ensure Health & Safety / HACCP / 5S compliance:

Identify and drive implementation of Continuous Improvements

Understand Molding and Toronto Operations objectives and actively
seek to understand issues negatively impacting Molding and
downstream customer performance and recommend or implement
corrective actions.

Understand and report on current state process capabilities and
reliability.

Identify improvement opportunities and participate in establishing
the performance metrics and the CI programme for the Department.

Lead, facilitate or participate in improvement projects and
establishment of associated Standard Work.

Facilitate implementation of changes on the shift.

Act as Molding’s primary contact and representative to Engineering
regarding any Molding process related project or issue.

Lead accreditation of new or upgraded processes.

Ensure training documentation is complete and training plans in
place prior to turnover to Production.

Ensure appropriate documentation, spare parts and preventative
maintenance programs are in place by project completion.

Requirements:

Degree in Engineering, P.Eng, or equivalent.

Minimum 10 years of technical support experience in a fast paced,
high volume Lean Manufacturing environment with 3-5 years in a
senior leadership role.

Manufacturing Engineering Specialist
Responsibilities:
-
Investigates any new concepts or ideas that could improve any aspect
specific to manufacturing/production.
-
Participates on any Continuous Improvement teams as a team member or
leader and provides the team with expertise, direction and advice.
Responsible as a team leader to manage the Continuous Improvement
project by documenting each meeting, establishing timelines, goals,
objectives and working within budget parameters.

Monitors the progress of jobs being performed by vendor(s), Tool
and/or Maintenance room and provides direction as necessary.

Facilitate training sessions to internal employees on an as needed
basis (may include welding, robotics, PLC)

Responsible for documenting current projects e.g. cost, quotes, pay
back, timelines, goals, etc. and provides information to management.

Co-ordinates the implementation of ECN’s (Engineering Change
Notices), internally or customer driven.

Responsible for updating and product related documentation, e.g.
set-up and operator instruction sheets, etc. and providing operator
training as required. Assists operators in trouble shooting issues
related to new equipment and provides recommendations on corrective
action to prevent reoccurrence.

Deals with customers on continuous improvement activities directly
related to part/component in manufacturing.

Train maintenance employees on how to maintain equipment and follow
procedures when trouble-shooting for equipment related to the
Continuous Improvement projects.

Works co-operatively with Program Manager on new product launches to
develop the budget and equipment acquisition when requested.

as required for: key design detail comparisons between multiple
packaging solution alternatives and/or support of sales and
marketing activities

Existing market packaging solutions to be reproduced and value
engineered to function on existing or proposed filling systems while
adhering to the customer’s marketing and sales objectives

Provide input to the Finance Department to aid in the accurate

throughout Toronto Operations.

Provide technical support
