Purchasing Manager
Responsibilities:
- Procuring raw materials, process materials, goods
and services as assigned
-
Responsible for procurement of plant-wide
tooling and capital expenditure requirements
-
Ensuring to meet annual cost savings target as
identified
-
Projecting annual cost downs for those
suppliers assigned to job function
-
Tracking monthly cost savings information and
ensuring timely updating of cost savings spread sheet; cost savings
to be presented and reviewed monthly.
-
Up-front involvement with quality engineering
group to ensure most cost-effective supply sources are identified
and utilized for all new products and processes
-
Optimizing work performance within the buying
group
-
Updating Purchasing procedures when necessary
-
Leading and controlling the buying activities
within the purchasing department.
-
Consolidating vendor base for cost optimization
-
Ensuring timely MRP systems updates to provide
systems accuracy related to buying information
-
Ensuring annual renewal of blanket orders with
cost
-
Ensuring contracts and service agreements
protect and meet the company’s needs
-
Ensuring purchase procedures are being followed
by all office and plant personnel
-
Involvement and active participant of the
Continuous Improvement Process
-
Manage
stockroom inventory levels and accuracy across all plants
-
Develop and implement over system and process
improvements as it relates to overall purchasing activities (i.e.,
electronic requisition system, etc.)
-
Negotiating philosophy based on total value
chain cost impact
-
Develop and implement long term supplier
agreements.
Rebate programs where applicable.
-
Develop standardized material component lists
for equipment and tooling purchases
-
Promote and comply with safety standards, safe operating procedures,
good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective
equipment requirements at all times
-
Any other reasonable duty required by Management
Requirements:
-
Post secondary education with business designation
-
PMAC designation preferred
-
APICS designation
-
Leadership training and experience
-
Solid technical background
-
Strong negotiation skills
-
Able to nurture positive supplier relations
-
API/TS quality system requirements
